GTA 6 hidden packages — what to expect
Updated 2026-11-03
A Vice City tradition
If you played GTA Vice City in 2002, you probably remember hidden packages. There were 100 of them, tucked behind buildings, on rooftops and in corners most players only found by accident. They were the game's signature collectible and, for a lot of people, the reason to keep exploring after the story ended.
GTA VI brings the series back to Vice City, now part of the state of Leonida. That's why hidden packages are one of the first things people ask about.
What's actually confirmed
Nothing. Rockstar has not announced hidden packages, or any other collectible, for GTA VI. We have a hidden packages category ready because the history makes it a reasonable bet, not because we know it's in the game.
If they do return, we have no idea how many there will be or what they'll look like. The number 100 belongs to the 2002 game. Anyone giving you a GTA VI package count before launch is guessing.
Our guess, based on the series
Here's what we think is plausible, and it's only a guess:
- If packages return, they might be a nod to the original rather than the main event, since later GTA games spread collecting across several categories.
- They could be spread over a much larger area than in 2002, because Leonida is more than just Vice City.
- Some might sit in places you can't reach early on. Open-world games often hold parts of the map back until the story moves along.
We'll find out on 19 November like everyone else.
How to plan a sweep
Whatever shape they take, hidden-object collectibles reward the same approach:
- Work by area, not by marker. Pick a district and clear it before moving on. Jumping between far-apart markers wastes more time than you'd expect.
- Mark each one as you get it. On our map, found state is saved in your browser, so it's still there when you come back.
- Look up and look behind. Rooftops, alleys and the backs of buildings are where hidden things tend to end up, because the camera rarely points there.
- Keep a small, fast vehicle handy. Bikes squeeze through gaps that cars can't.
- Note the ones you can't reach yet. If a spot looks locked off, write it down and come back later.
How packages will show up here
No locations are on the map before launch. After release, markers arrive with a label. "Reported" means a player posted it and we haven't checked. "Verified" means we saw it ourselves and took our own screenshot. Anything less certain is marked "rumoured."
If you find a package, post it on the Finds board of the forum with a map link to the exact spot. A moderator will confirm it before it becomes a marker.
Your running total lives on the checklist, alongside every other category.
