GTA 6 release date and platforms

Updated 2026-11-03

The date

GTA VI releases on 19 November 2026.

The platforms

At launch, GTA VI is coming to two platforms:

  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S

Those are the only confirmed platforms.

What about PC

Rockstar has not announced a PC version of GTA VI, and there is no PC release date. At the time of writing, there's nothing official to go on. If you're waiting to play on PC, the honest answer is that nobody outside Rockstar knows yet, and anyone giving you a date is guessing.

What time does it unlock

The exact launch time had not been announced at the time of writing. When it is, check it against the store on your own platform rather than trusting a time someone posted on social media.

Setting and characters

GTA VI is set in the state of Leonida, which includes Vice City. Rockstar's trailers introduced the game's two protagonists, Lucia and Jason.

That's the extent of what we treat as fact on this site. Anything beyond it, from story details to map size, isn't something we can confirm.

What about collectibles

Rockstar has not announced any in-game collectibles for GTA VI. Every category on this site, from hidden packages to trading cards, is unconfirmed until the game is out. We built those categories around what earlier Grand Theft Auto games included, and we'll change them to match what GTA VI actually has.

There are no locations on our map before launch. That's deliberate. We don't want to put guesses where people will plan their playtime around them.

What happens on the map after release

From 19 November, locations will start appearing as players find things and we check them. Every marker carries a label:

  • Rumoured means unconfirmed.
  • Reported means a player posted it and we haven't checked it yet.
  • Verified means we saw it in-game ourselves.

Mapping a game takes time, so expect the map to fill in over days, not hours.

Getting ready for launch week

A few things worth doing before the 19th:

  1. Decide whether you're playing the story first or collecting as you go. It changes how much you'll use the map early on.
  2. Open the checklist in the browser you plan to use. Your found and not-found progress is stored in that browser, with no account, so stick with one.
  3. Look through all categories so you know what we're watching for.
  4. Bookmark the forum. It's anonymous, with a random nickname per browser, and the Finds board is where new locations get reported.

Keeping this page honest

If Rockstar announces a launch time, a PC version or anything else before release, those details will be official news, not something we found. Until then, treat any claim beyond the facts above with caution, including ones you see shared as leaks.
