GTA 6 photo collectibles and landmark shots

Updated 2026-11-03

Photos have a history in GTA

Taking pictures as a collectible goes back a long way in the series. GTA San Andreas had 50 snapshots to find and photograph. GTA V's 2014 re-release added a wildlife photography challenge. Both turned a camera into a reason to explore.

Photo collectibles are a little different from the rest. You don't pick anything up. You find the right spot, frame the right thing, and the game decides whether it counts.

What's known for GTA VI

Nothing. Rockstar has not announced photo collectibles, or any collectibles, for GTA VI. We don't know whether there's a camera, how it would work, or what you might be asked to photograph.

We have two photo categories ready, both based on series history:

If GTA VI doesn't have anything like this, we'll drop or rename them.

Our guess

Purely a guess, based on past games:

  • A landmark challenge, if there is one, would probably focus on recognizable places across Leonida, Vice City included.
  • Some shots might require being in a specific spot or facing a specific direction.
  • A photo challenge could be the kind of collectible that's easy to start and hard to finish, because the last few spots are always the obscure ones.

How to approach photo collectibles

These habits apply to almost any photo hunt in a game:

  1. Find the spot before you frame. Get to the location first, then worry about composition. A clear view matters more than a clever angle.
  2. Fill the frame. If a challenge has to recognize what you photographed, give it a clean view. Get closer instead of shooting from far away.
  3. Watch the light. If a shot keeps failing, try a different time of day. Night or heavy weather can make things hard to see.
  4. Clear the clutter. Traffic, people or your own vehicle in the shot can get in the way. Wait a moment or move a few steps.
  5. Try a little higher. A rooftop or an elevated road often gives a cleaner angle than street level.

How our markers will work

For photo collectibles, a useful marker shows where to stand, not just where the subject is. When we verify one, we'll take our own screenshot from the spot that worked, so you can match the angle.

There are no locations on the map before launch on 19 November 2026. After release, markers will be labelled rumoured, reported or verified.

Reporting a photo spot

If you get a photo to count, post it on the Finds board of the forum. The forum is text only, so describe what you photographed, where you stood, and which way you faced. Use "copy map link" from the spot where you took the picture, not from the subject itself. Moderators confirm finds before they become markers.

Your progress across every category is on the checklist.
