Collectibles in every GTA game: how many there were, from GTA III to GTA V
Updated 2026-11-03
Rockstar hasn't announced any collectibles for GTA VI. The best guide we have is what it did before, so here is every major set in one place.
The numbers
| Game | Collectible | How many |
|---|---|---|
| GTA III | Hidden packages | 100 |
| GTA Vice City | Hidden packages | 100 |
| GTA San Andreas | Spray tags | 100 |
| GTA San Andreas | Snapshots | 50 |
| GTA San Andreas | Horseshoes | 50 |
| GTA San Andreas | Oysters | 50 |
| GTA San Andreas | Unique stunt jumps | 70 |
| GTA IV | Pigeons | 200 |
| GTA IV | Unique stunt jumps | 50 |
| GTA V | Spaceship parts | 50 |
| GTA V | Letter scraps | 50 |
| GTA V | Nuclear waste barrels | 30 |
| GTA V | Submarine pieces | 30 |
| GTA V | Stunt jumps | 50 |
| GTA V | Under-the-bridge flights | 50 |
| GTA V | Knife flights | 15 |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | Cigarette cards | 144 |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | Dinosaur bones | 30 |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | Dreamcatchers | 20 |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | Rock carvings | 10 |
We don't count everything here, such as side missions and random events. Sources also differ on some smaller sets, so treat these as the commonly reported totals.
What the pattern shows
- Sets got more themed. The early games used one generic package. Later games tied each set to a character or a story, as with letter scraps and spaceship parts.
- Exploring moved into other places. GTA V sent you underwater and into the air, not only around the streets.
- Totals stayed around 50 to 100 per set. GTA IV's 200 pigeons and Red Dead's 144 cards are the exceptions.
- Not every collectible counted. In some games only part of a set counted toward 100%, which is why we'd wait for the real list.
What this means for GTA VI
None of this tells us what's in GTA VI. It does tell us which kinds of set to watch for, and those are the 13 categories we track. Each one is marked as rumoured until we've seen it in the game. Here's how we label them.
