GTA 6 strangers and side characters map and checklist

Side characters are where Grand Theft Auto writes its strangest stories. GTA V had a whole set of Strangers and Freaks missions, plus random events you could stumble on. Expect GTA VI to have its own, though how they work is unknown.
Map and checklist open on launch day, 19 November 2026. We only add a location once we've seen it in the game. In the meantime, the map shows Leonida's regions.
What GTA VI has shown so far
- Rockstar has introduced a large cast, including Boobie Ike, Dre'Quan Priest and Real Dimez. Whether side characters give Strangers-style missions isn't confirmed.
In earlier games
- GTA V had Strangers and Freaks side missions, started by meeting characters marked on the map.
- GTA V also had random events that appeared as you drove past, many of which counted toward 100%.
What we expect in GTA VI
Each side character gets a marker where you meet them, with what unlocks them. Random events get area markers.
Tips
- Some side characters only appear after a story mission. The “Needs” line on each marker says which.
- We don't spoil what happens. Markers say where and when, not how it ends.

Not known yet. Rockstar hasn't announced a number, and we'll count them ourselves after launch on 19 November 2026.
